How It All Started

As all of you know, I moved to Charleston last week. Let me begin by saying that if you’re seeing this email, we are related or you are someone that played a major role in my life regardless of the quantity of time we spent together. You made and impact on me in some way and I wanted to come up with a way to keep everyone in the loop with what is going on. I am not the biggest social media fan and not willing to suffer the amount of hand cramps that would happen with a letter to each of you so email made the most sense. And it feels more personal than a post on Instagram or Facebook. 

It all truly started around August of 2023. At the time, Table 33 was on the verge of turning 7 and Tipp City Pizza was turning 1 in December. I found myself in a slump and needed a breather. We had spent most of 2023 adding and removing key players from both teams and it was exhausting. I was able to get some time away in Asheville, NC for 4 days and that was the start. Once I arrived, I immersed myself in the food culture as much as I could. I quickly realized I could only eat so much but still strived to cover as much ground as possible. One specific area of Asheville had restaurants and coffee shops around it but also had a hotel that was under construction. I noticed it but didn’t think much of it. Asheville was a great space for me to get away and reset. I picked a subpar Airbnb to stay in and ended up staying in a hotel the last 2 nights I was there but it was worth the change and rooftop garden area. The view was really great. I returned home with a fresh view and ready to tackle what was ahead.

As I said before, you’re on this email chain for a reason. I’m thankful for the love, support and encouragement that I have received from everyone who believed in me and still do.
